AN ARTISANAL BRAND

Maria Maurio hand crafts luxurious artisanal textiles utilizing ancient techniques of natural dyeing and hand printing. With a focus in social responsibility, the zero-waste brand uses only sustainably grown and ethically sourced natural dyes and fibers. Designs are part of a small batch, multi-day process that combines ancient methods of hand dyeing, Shibori and hand printing. Each creation is unique and exhibits a harmonious blend of artistry and individuality, making them coveted treasures for those who appreciate the beauty of singular, handcrafted works.

Maria holds degrees in Apparel Design with concentrations in Couture and Sustainability. Her design focus is enriched by a background in ancient art history, which adds a unique perspective to her creations. Her high attention to detail and painstaking methods have earned her the recognition of Master Artisan for her natural dyeing and hand block printing. Collections are conceived and produced in her studio located along the Delaware River in historic Trenton, New Jersey.

Transparency, fair wages, sustainably grown organic and natural dyes, ethically sourced textiles and environmentally friendly methods are the focus in creating a sustainable future for all.

All natural fiber textiles are selected for their positive effect on the environment and society whether it be regenerative agriculture silk, organic cotton or deadstock and vintage fabrics.

"Life above and below water" aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

All natural dyes are foraged, garden grown or purchased from trusted sources for traceability back to the growers insuring fair wages.

Garment labels are 100% recycled polyester made from plastic bottles.

Online purchases are shipped using 100% compostable mailers and recycled components printed with algae ink.

From start to finish, each zero waste design is thoughtfully created to be a future heirloom that will fully compost and degrade naturally.
